About US

Hornbeck United Pentecostal Church History
The Hornbeck United Pentecostal Church was founded in 1950.  The original building consisted of nothing more than a one-room sanctuary with an outer tar-paper covering. In 1989, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Doyle Carpenter, the church underwent renovations.  A fellowship hall and Sunday school classrooms were added to the back of the building, restrooms were added to the front of the building, and the overall structure received a red brick outer covering.  Through the years the church has been blessed with exceptional pastorship.  Currently, there are no living members from the founding congregation; however, the present church body continues to follow the same Acts 2:38 message of salvation— “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

The mission of Hornbeck UPC can be summed up in one word: “people.”
